You are an operator of a recreational drone

  • If:

    • Not used for commercial purposes


    You must:

    • Abide by the ‘Regulation of Unmanned Aircraft systems’ published on 29 July 2016 
    • Follow the safety rules published on www.dronbonton.si 
    • Have private liability coverage 
    • Be flown away from people and obstacles
    • Fly within visual line of sight


    You must not:

    • Fly above 150 meters
    • Operate above crowds, industrial sites, urban areas and other restricted areas or impede manned aircraft
    • Fly during the nights

You are an operator of a model aircraft

  • If:

    • Not used for commercial purposes
    • Used for private and/or leisure purposes
    • Used over a specific aviation airfield dedicated to model aircraft activities


    You must:

    • Abide by the ‘safety directive on Unmanned Aircraft’ published on 13 May 2016
    • Have liability coverage 

You are an operator of a professional drone

  • If:

    • Used for commercial purposes in connection with a business activity


    You must:

    • Abide by the ‘safety directive on Unmanned Aircraft’ published on 13 May 2016
    • Have written state approval before flying commercially Have a drone license and be over 18 years old
    • Have special authorisation to fly in urban zones (Class IV) 
    • Be registered nationally, have a drone identification number visible on fuselage and have an identity plate
    • Remain 150m away from people and 30m away from obstacles
    • Have a user manual 
    • Have a liability coverage up to 1million Euros 
    • Follow privacy guidelines published by the Data Protection Authority (see here) 


    You must not:

    • Fly above 150 meters
