You are an operator of a recreational drone

  • If:

    • Not used or commercial purposes


    You must:

    • Register your drone (€90) and have a drone identification number 
    • Keep away from people and urban areas
    • Have private liability coverage 
    • If your drone weights more than 15kg, you must have a system maintenance manual


    You must not:

    • Operate above crowds, industrial sites, urban areas and other restricted areas or impede manned aircraft

You are an operator of a model aircraft

  • If:

    • Not used or commercial purposes


    You must:

    • Register you drone (€90) and have a drone identification number 
    • Remain away from people and urban areas
    • Have private liability coverage 
    • If your drone weights more than 15kg, you must have a system maintenance manual


    You must not:

    • Operate above crowds, industrial sites, urban areas and other restricted areas or impede manned aircraft

You are an operator of a professional drone

  • If:

    • Used for commercial purposes


    You must:

    • Have a permit to fly in order to perform aerial work
    • Be registered nationally (€90), have a drone identification number visible on the fuselage and have an identity plate
    • Have a certificate of airworthiness and system maintenance manual if your drone weighs more than 15kg
    • Have liability coverage up to 1million Euros
    • Follow privacy guidelines published by the Romanian Data Protection authority


    You must not:

    • Operate with only manual flight controls
    • Impede manned aircraft or fly in restricted areas
