You are an operator of a recreational drone

  • If:

    • Not used for commercial purposes
    • It weighs less than 3 kg
    • You operate at an altitude below 50 meters
    • You operate only in daytime and away from clouds


    You must:

    • Abide by the ‘Civil Aviation Act’, ‘Ministerial Decree No.402/2015’ and ‘Decision No.403/2015’
    • Register nationally and have a drone identification number


    You must not:

    • Operate in clouds, above crowds, industrial sites, urban areas and other restricted areas
    • Operate at altitudes above 50 meters


    We recommended to have a private insurance contract covering recreational drone activities.

You are an operator of a model aicraft

  • If:

    • Not used for commercial purposes
    • Not flying above industrial sites
    • Not flying beyond the line of sight
    • Operating only at daytime and away from clouds
    • It weighs less than 3 kg


    You must:

    • Abide by the ‘Civil Aviation Act’, ‘Ministerial Decree No.402/2015’ and ‘Decision No.403/2015’
    • Register nationally and have a drone identification number
    • Have third-party liability insurance


    You must not:

    • Operate in clouds, above crowds, industrial sites, urban areas and other restricted areas

You are an operator of a professional drone

  • If:

    • Used for commercial, scientific or manufacturer testing purposes
    • Flying beyond the line of sight
    • Operating at night
    • Flying in clouds


    You must:

    • Abide by the ‘Civil Aviation Act’, ‘Ministerial Decree No.402/2015’ and ‘Decision No.403/2015’
    • Register nationally, have a drone identification number and a permit to fly
    • Have a CoA for drones over 25 kg
    • Have Third Party Liability insurance with a coverage of 1 million Euros
    • Be 18 or older and have a National Drone Pilot Certificate


    Must not:

    • Fly in restricted areas
