• If:

    • Not used for commercial purposes

     

    You must:

    • Abide by the ‘Royal Decree RPAS (10 April 2016)’
    • Keep visual contact with the drone
    • Always remain away from people, animals and commercial property
    • Always respect the privacy of others
    • Only operate on private property

     

    You must not:

    • Operate in clouds, above crowds, industrial sites, urban areas and other restricted areas
    • Fly at altitudes above 10 meters or use a drone weighing more than 1 kg

     

    It is strongly recommended to have private insurance covering all recreational drone activities.

  • If:

    • Operated over a special aviation field dedicated to model aircraft operations

     

    You must:

    • Abide by the ‘GDF-01 Circulaire/Omzendbrief’
    • Have liability coverage up to EUR 1m
    • Have a fully manual flight control

     

    You must not:

    • Operate in clouds, above crowds, industrial sites, urban areas and other restricted areas
    • Interfere with manned aviation


  • If:

    • Used for commercial or scientific or manufacturer testing purposes

     

    You must:

    • Abide by the ‘Royal Decree RPAS (10 April 2016)’
    • Register nationally and have an identity plate, a drone identification number visible on fuselage and a Drone Pilot Certificate
    • Pass a theoretical and practical exam
    • Have Third Party Liability insurance with a coverage of EUR 1m
    • Always respect privacy and data protection laws

     

    You must not:

    • Fly in restricted areas
    • Fly in populated areas unless you are authorised
    • Have a fully manual or automatic flight control system
    • Fly at an altitude of more than 90 meters
