You are an operator of a recreational drone

  • If:

    • Not used for commercial purposes
    • Not flying above industrial sites and urban areas
    • Flying within the line of sight
    • Operated only during daylight hours

     

    You must:

    • Abide by both the ‘Aviation act 864/2014’ and the ‘OPS M1-32’
    • Have liability coverage (commonly included in private liability/homeowner insurance)

     

    You must not:

    • Have a fully automated flight control without manual override
    • Operate in clouds, above crowds, industrial sites, urban areas and other restricted areas
    • Weigh more than 25 kg

You are an operator of a model aircraft

  • If:

    • Not used for commercial purposes
    • Flying within the line of sight
    • Operated only during daylight


    You must:

    • Abide by both the ‘Aviation act 864/2014’ and the ‘OPS M1-32’
    • Have third-party liability insurance


    You must not:

    • Have a fully automated flight control without manual override
    • Operate in clouds, above crowds, industrial sites, urban areas and other restricted  areas
    • Weigh more than 25 kg

You are an operator of a professional drone

  • If:

    • Used for commercial, scientific or manufacturer testing purposes
    • Flying above industrial sites and urban areas
    • Flying beyond line of sight


    You must:

    • Be registered nationally and abide by both the ‘Aviation act 864/2014’ and the ‘OPS M1-32’
    • Have a national identity plate
    • Have an automatic flight control with manual override
    • Have Third Party Liability insurance with a coverage of at least  EUR 1m


    You must not:

    • Impede manned aircraft
    • Fly in restricted areas
    • Weigh more than 25 kg
