You are an operator of a recreational drone

  • If:

    • Not used for commercial purposes


    You must:

    • Abide by the ‘Transport Authority´s Decision no.1/2015’
    • Register your drone nationally
    • Have private liability coverage
    • Keep your drone within visual line of sight


    You must not:

    • Fly over an altitude of 30 meters
    • Operate above crowds, industrial sites, urban areas and other restricted areas or impede manned aircraft
    • Operate above urban areas and industrial sites

You are an operator of a model aircraft

  • If:

    • Not used for commercial purposes


    You must:

    • Abide by the ‘Transport Authority´s Decision no.1/2015’
    • Register your drone nationally
    • Have private liability coverage
    • Keep your drone within visual line of sight


    You must not:

    • Fly over an altitude of 30 meters
    • Operate above crowds, industrial sites, urban areas and other restricted areas or impede manned aircraft
    • Operate above urban areas and industrial sites

You are an operator of a professional drone

  • If:

    • Used for commercial purposes with a permit issued by the transport authority


    You must:

    • Abide by the ‘Transport Authority's Decision no.1/2015’
    • Be registered nationally, have a drone identification number visible on fuselage and have an identity plate
    • Be 18 or older and have a National Drone Pilot Certificate to operate drone (theoretical and practical exam)
    • Have liability coverage up to 1million Euros 


    You must not:

    • Operate during night
    • Impede manned aircraft or fly in restricted areas
