• If:

    • The purpose of your flight is limited to fun and leisure


    You must:

    • Keep 5000 meters away from airports
    • Keep visual contact with your drone at all times
    • Keep a distance of 150 meters away from people, buildings and traffic
    • Consider privacy of others and follow national privacy guidelines if you plan to take pictures with your drone


    You must not:

    • Fly near airports and/or sensitive areas
    • Fly in prohibited airspace
    • Broadcast aerial pictures without the consent of people in those pictures.


    It is strongly recommended to have private insurance covering your drone activities.


  • If:

    • The purpose of your flight is limited to sport, recreation and competition
    • Your flight takes place under the auspice of an aeromodel club in a dedicated area


    You must:

    • Abide by the local rules applicable to the individual aeroclub activities
    • Abide by the BSL D 4-3 Regulation if you operate your model airplane at an air show
    • Have an insurance if you operate at an air show

  • If:

    • You operate your drone in connection with a business activity and not for fun and leisure


    You must:

    For all drones regardless of their weight

    • Abide by the “Regulation concerning aircraft without a pilot on board”
    • Follow national privacy guidelines
    • Have Third Party Liability insurance with coverage of 1 million Euros

    For drones weighting less than 2.5 kg (Category R01)

    • Send a declaration to the Civil Aviation Authority (NF-1114E) stating that you are aware of your obligations as a professional drone operator
    • Always keep visual contact with your aircraft during the flight
    • Equip your aircraft with an auto-landing system in case of an emergency.

    For drones weighting more than 2.5 kg(Category R02 and R03)

    • Register your drone nationally
    • Pass online course to acquire basic aviation knowledge
    • Equip your aircraft with specific safety systems listed in the regulation
    • Produce an operating manual applicable to your staff and commercial organisation
    • Obtain an operating license from the N-CAA and pay a yearly fee


    You must not:

    • Fly higher than 120 meters off the ground (unless authorised)
    • Fly beyond visual line of sight (unless authorised)
    • Fly closer than 50 meters from other people, vehicles and buildings
